Load history from macOS

If you have a copy or image of a macOS drive then you can load this into BHE by following the relevant guide:

Alternatively, you can run our capture tool on a macOS computer to capture the browser history files. This process is outlined below.

Capture history from macOS using BHC

  1. Download and install .NET 6 Runtime for macOS: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/6.0
    Select x64 for a Mac with an Intel chip and Arm64 for a Mac with an Apple/M chip.
  2. Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access and enable access for the Terminal app. Once the capture is complete this access can be revoked.
  3. Download the capture tool: Download Browser History Capturer for macOS
  4. Ensure all web browsers are closed before starting the capture.
  5. Open a Terminal at the location of the capture tool folder.
  6. Run the command sudo dotnet bhc.dll.
  7. Enter the admin password.
  8. Follow the prompts to complete the capture.
  9. Once complete copy the generated Capture folder to a Windows machine running BHE and load the capture into BHE.
